For the operator, the technology is invisible: he selects and presses a displayed graphics control element on the TFT display. Using IconTrust, SelectTrust selects the pressed control element, allocates it a signature and transmits a functional safe entry action to the safe computer. Reliability of the entry action is thus assured. SelectTrust and IconTrust monitor all safety-relevant areas.

With SelectTrust, both safety relevant and non-safety relevant information can be realized within one single HMI unit. In this way, SelectTrust enables the use of more powerful standard PC technology and its associated advantages such as cost efficiency, ergonomics, flexibility and variability for the safety-critical area.
